After the provinces of Bergamo, Sondrio, Brescia and Lecco, the series dedicated to the ‘Itineraries of the Lombardy trails’ is completed with the booklet on the trails in Varese, Como and Pavia. It is the destination of a long journey along the trails of the Lombardy hiking network, which, in this last stage, recounts a region suspended between the Pre-Alps, Mesolcina, the Apennines and the ancient Via del Sale, which stretches from the Oltrepò to the sea. Routes through places often less travelled, waiting to be rediscovered among mountains that vary in nature and landscape – now green, now rocky – but always extraordinarily scenic. Where one can breathe in the true soul of the territory, its history and culture.
For each itinerary in the guidebook – produced by the Region of Lombardy with the technical contribution of ERSAF and Assorifugi Lombardia – the level of difficulty, the time required and the reference refuge with access methods are indicated.
